Sustainability – nature conservation and environmental awareness

The sustainable development of the business activities of the multipurpose platform Torkret Plus is in constant progress.

Istria, the tourist region in western Croatia where we are located, is the largest peninsula on the Adriatic Sea, recognizable as a junction of blue coast and green interior. In terms of sustainability, the basic law of the Universe is balance, and Istria is today a synonym throughout the world for sustainable, peaceful coexistence of all people regardless of their origin and nationality.

The 3000-year-old Pula in southern Istria, from where Torkret Plus operates, is a city with a rich history and tradition of tourism, fishing, viticulture, olive growing and shipbuilding. Unique combinations of nature, green landscape and indented coast with an abundance of beautiful beaches, is an ambient in which we grew up in a way that our parents raised us, by the nature of things, strictly implanting ecological awareness in our DNA. Once a man has it in his blood from a young age, he remains contributor to ecological sustainability throughout his entire life – at home, on walks, at work, everywhere anytime and anywhere.

Environmental sustainability is one of the fundamental principles of our business. With significant benefits for waste reduction and environmental protection, within the framework of our business in all phases of work we give priority to natural materials and use recyclable packaging.

Among other things, the thin-layer concrete that we develop and apply in our products is an ecological factor that reduces the consumption of natural raw materials and the amount of cement needed, and thus contributes to preserving the necessary technical and aesthetic properties of products, i.e. their quality. With less mass of transported cargo and optimized logistics, we also contribute to reduction of CO₂ emissions associated with transportation and production processes.

Through continuous improvement of technology, improvement of materials and a responsible approach in all business sectors, especially in construction, we strive to contribute as much and as higher quality as possible to the development of sustainable, long-lasting and energy-efficient solutions.
